Our mini-novels and short stories are divided into 7 language levels – ranging from 400 to over 3,500 words in vocabulary. Each level corresponds to a clearly defined language proficiency level from A1 to C2, ensuring learners can read with motivation and without feeling overwhelmed. All e-books with audio functionality allow you to use text and sound simultaneously. This enables you to practice reading comprehension and pronunciation in parallel – ideal for on-the-go learning or for visual and auditory learning.

Yes. For absolute beginners, we offer specially developed content at language level 0 / A1 beginner/novice with very simple vocabulary and a clear structure – ideal for an easy start.

The “Croatian Simple Sentences” series at language level A1 beginner/novice presents vocabulary organized by topic, making it easy to learn.

Our book series is constantly being expanded and enhanced with innovative ideas. One of these is the spoken version of the mini-novel as an audio book. The audio books are available for download in MP3 format. You can find more details about available audio books here.

Similar to the Penguin Readers series for English learners, we have developed the fantastic Mini Novels series for Croatian learners. In this series, we have established language levels:

Level 0: Easystarts / Novice Low – up to 400 words (A1)

Level 1: Beginners / Novice Mid, High – up to 800 words (A1)

Level 2: Intermediate = Intermediate Low – up to 1200 words (A2)

Level 3: Advanced = Intermediate Mid, High – up to 1700 words (B1)

Level 4: Perfection = Advanced Low, Mid – up to 2200 words (B2)

Level 5: Perfection Plus = Advanced High – up to 2800 words (C1)

Level 6: First Language= Superior – up to 3500 words (C2)

Level 7: Standard Literature – without vocabulary section

A grammatical guide is provided to help determine the appropriate level:

 

  1. Easystarts / Novice Low – For learners who can use Croatian actively in the present tense.
  2. Beginners / Novice Mid, High – For learners who can use Croatian actively in the present tense and have passive understanding of the future and perfect tenses.
  3. Intermediate / Intermediate Low – For learners who are able to actively use the present, future and perfect tenses in Croatian.
  4. Advanced / Intermediate Mid, High – For learners who are able to actively use the present, future and perfect tenses and have passive understanding of verb aspects.
  5. Perfection / Advanced Low, Mid – For learners who are able to actively use the present, future, perfect tenses and verb aspects.
  6. Perfection Plus / Advanced High – For learners who are able to actively use the present, future, perfect tenses, verb aspects and have passive understanding of phrases and colloquial language.
  7. First Language / Superior – for learners who are able to actively use the present, future, perfect tenses, verb aspects, phrases, and colloquial language.
  8. Standard Literature without vocabulary section.
